One of my favorite things about ice on the farm is watching Scott and the kids embrace a whole different world than they have known. At times the learning curve is steep (like when the brand new brush mower gets bent in a supposedly unbreakable spot or when the wooden swing gets taken out in an unrelated mowing accident). The mishaps are minor compared to the gains in knowledge, confidence, and strengthening of relationships that occur with each new experience.
