Chickens…..we wanted 3 or 4 and ended up with 12. We did not want roosters because we aren’t looking to build a flock and roosters can be aggressive and mean. We supposedly had all hens, but it can be difficult to tell when the chicks are young. Our mornings and evenings have been interrupted this summer by the sounds of crowing. We’ve spent the last couple of months trying to decide if we have dominate hens ore if Queen Bob is really a King. Our long time chicken farming neighbor tells us there are at least 3 roosters and is amused that we still haven’t figured it out. Our novice abilities really show sometimes 🤣. The roosters will be leaving us to join a farm down the road. McKinley is disappointed that her flock will be down to 8 once they depart.
