Last year my zucchini and squash had very poor yields. I planted extra plants this year so that I would get more than 3 squash for my efforts. It worked…I harvested 35+ (I stopped counting) and gave some to everyone who would take it. Perhaps more plants were not the answer.
We enjoyed a few potatoes and tomatoes and the corn is still to come. Sadly, EVERY perennial flower, green beans, lettuce, and bok choy were all enjoyed by the deer. We are calling the garden “the salad bar” now and it is apparent every local deer knew about it and also apparent they don’t like zucchini 🤣
